Hi, I love your site, it's so nice to hear it from a farthers prospective. I totally agree on many levels with your tips and ideas for sleep patterns and getting baby of to sleep. From day one our little Bean has been put down to sleep and has done a great job of taking himself off to sleep with his music playing in the back ground. I have been slatted in the past for indicating that our child likes his independance and would rather be put down when he is tired but he had fallen into this routine and we loved it. However he is just about to turn 4 months and is in the middle of sleep regression! He will stll go down between 6 and 7.30 but instead of waking up at just 1.30 for milk he now wakes at 2.30 and 4.30 then 6.30 is get up time i was at my witts end and spent a coulpe nights sleeping in his room so his Daddy wasnt woken up and well rested for work. decided this was not a good idea and didnt want him to get into bad sleeping habits so put a stop to this straight away. He has his milk at 1.30 and music at 2.30 and 4.30 then milk at 6.30 Not sure if its coincidence or not but he dropped one of his wake ups last night and went 1.30-4 so maybe this has helped will keep going and see what happens. Lovely to have found your site I will share with my friends who have babies of similar age. Keep up the good work and a big squeeze for your little one.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('9271','Jennallee','Hi, I love your site, it\'s so nice to hear it from a farthers prospective.
I think we all worry too much about what the correct way for sleeping. The babies do grow up. There are some great times to calm things down and stretch out the sleep times. For us a warm bath and a ocean wave sound machine worked the best. I even found a portable ocean wave should machine online to take along when we are away from home or just in the car, Sleepy Bee. So now when I leave the house I double check list includes, keys, check, phone, check, diapers, check wipes, check, Sleepy Bee, check. Good to go!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('5040','busymommy','I think we all worry too much about what the correct way for sleeping.
Diana,

Thanks for stopping by. You make a great point worth noting. They will grow out of it when they're old enough. The art of parenting seems to come down to picking your battles, and what works for one child may not work for another.

Cheers!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('331','Chris','Diana,\r\n\r\nThanks for stopping by.
I disagree that having baby dependent on you to fall asleep is a bad thing. I think sometimes parents are overly scared of setting a pattern that will last forever, but babies are dependent on us for many things that they will grow out of naturally when they are old enough. Putting baby down sleepy is not a bad idea, but parents should remember to be guided by love so that the fear of creating a kid who can't sleep by themselves doesn't lead the parent to letting the baby cry it out!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('330','Diana','I disagree that having baby dependent on you to fall asleep is a bad thing.
Falling asleep on their own was key for us. I just knew that holding our daughters till they fell asleep would lead to hard times.

However, the comfort object has come back to haunt us with our 4 yr old. She gets in moods and want's to take it everywhere
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('81','Scott','Falling asleep on their own was key for us.
