Smiles Are Free… For Now

by Chris on 18/11/2009

in My Story

Whoever said that the best things in life are free was on to something. Baby A is nearly 3 months old now and is becoming more aware of herself and the world around her. Smiles and little giggles are becoming more common each day. We are no longer assuming the smiles are from gas or a bad belly.

She must think her old man makes the best goofy faces as I can get a smirk with just the raising of an eyebrow. Another winner is farts; farts and babies go together like peanut butter and jelly. She is a chip off the old block.

It is a powerful feeling when you are the cause of the grin on that little face. The sense of accomplishment makes you feel like you are Super Dad – I mean come on, it takes some serious skills to get this:

clever father baby happy

Do I have a booger in my nose? Something in my teeth? As long as it gets a smile, it is fine by me.

From this:

clever father baby sad

"...Mom!..."

I should enjoy it while I can, before I know it the only things that’ll make her smile will be cellphones and boys (Arg!).

In conclusion, Mommy is comfy, and Daddy is funny looking.

You are right…it is an awesome feeling. Ace used to smile at the dumbest stuff…like me singing the Beverly Hillbilly song…don’t ask. :D

Thanks Eric,

It’s been a lot of work getting everything going again with the blog but I’m glad I made the change.

Thanks for the updated link Jared, really appreciated! Today we discovered her new favorite thing is to hold up her arms and go ‘Yay!’ … works like a charm.

Hi – I don’t comment on many sites but had to on yours. It’s really nice! I really like how you write – very to the point, unlike a lot of other blogs. Thanks for having this site. I’ll bookmark it and visit regularly. I love visiting other sites about parenting! It seems like there is constantly new things to learn about it. I don’t have time to read it all right now, I found this site when looking for something else on Google, but I’ve bookmarked your homepage and will check back again soon to read your latest. Visit my site if you’d like to read more. Keep up the outstanding work!
